A Charming Weekend on a Vineyard

Does anyone feel like 2013 has been the busiest year yet? Like it’s literally whizzing by before your eyes?

I cannot believe that today is May 1. I don’t know where January, February, March, or April went and I cannot believe there are only six months until my wedding day!

I feel like for the first half of this year I’ve been on auto pilot. Work has worn me out. Even though only two weekends ago I took a weekend retreat with my mom up in Stonington, I jumped at the chance to get away this weekend again when my fiancé suggested it.

We stayed in Connecticut, but it still felt like we were far away. We were in the tiny town of Bozrah, up near Norwich and the casinos. We did nothing but relax at the Fitch Claremont, a sweet little B&B located on a vineyard, and run by a lovely couple. We tasted some wine, went out for dinner, read, I brainstormed ideas for the blog…it was heaven!

The next morning, we enjoyed a spectacular breakfast. I kid you not, the best I have had in a long time. The folks at The Fitch Claremont know what they’re doing.

Pastry & fruit with cream. What you don't see is that we also had coffee, stuffed french toast, home fries, eggs, and bacon. A feast!

I went home Sunday afternoon fully relaxed and ready to face the week with renewed vigor.

How about you? Taken any short weekend getaways lately?

Enjoy your Wednesday!
